Are we able to support "Available to Promise" check through our DMS implementation?

Are we able to support "Available to Promise" check through our DMS implementation? In a simpler form it is an ability for the distributor to check availability of stock (including stock in transit minus existing orders that needs to be fulfilled) and make it available when taking further secondary orders across any channel - salesman, retailer app, 3rd party etc.. This process is typically used to get visibility from a production perspective, but we are responding to an RFI where this question has been asked in the context of a DMS implementation.
